Prior to joining DTB Associates, Mark led the public affairs efforts at Pernod Ricard USA for 18 years, developing strategies to advance the company's interests at the state, federal and international levels and serving as the company's principal spokesperson on public policy issues.
Before joining Pernod Ricard in 1999, Mark served as Vice President, International Issues and Trade, with the Distilled Spirits Council of the United States (DISCUS) where he established the organization's international trade office and successfully increased export opportunities for U.S. producers of distilled spirits.
Prior to entering the private sector, Mark worked at the Office of the United States Trade Representative for 15 years. From 1989-1991, he was Deputy Assistant U.S. Trade Representative for Europe and the Mediterranean responsible for bilateral trade issues involving the European Community and other countries of the region. From 1988-89, he was Deputy Assistant U.S. Trade Representative for Asia and the Pacific and led trade negotiations with Taiwan. Mark helped resolve numerous bilateral trade disputes as Trade Policy Officer at the U.S. Mission to the European Community in Brussels from 1985-88. He also represented the U.S. in the Tokyo and Uruguay Rounds of multilateral trade negotiations under the GATT, the predecessor to the World Trade Organization (WTO).
